Encore! Bravo! Brava!
March 30, 2010 | Sunday was the 12th annual Opera in the Park, and it was terrific.
As usual, Réal and Phil went early, about the crack of stupid, to be exact, to stake out our homestead right alongside the high-rent district (that would be the tents, under which you can rent a square of grass for your group). They spread out blankets and guarded the perimeters zealously. Around 9:30, Bob and I arrived with breakfast: sticky buns, mixed fruit, coffee.
Apart from scoring a premium piece of real estate, the other reason for going early is that you get to hear the concert twice. They do a complete run-through of the program from beginning to end before going off to change into their concert togs.
As usual, everyone brought drinks and food to share. We always have the most impressive buffet, though I say it myself.
