More brrrr!

"Oh, the weather outside is frightful...." musical notes

I don't mean to whine, but it's true! — the weather really has been frightful. Cold, cloudy, and wet.

water in the canal

Officially, there has been .4in rain so far this month at the Palm Springs International Airport. Well, when you put it that way, it doesn't sound like much, but that is .4in more than I've seen since I moved in at the beginning of August. And combined with a lot of cloudy days, it seems a lot worse. Nevertheless it was enough to start water flowing in the Baristo Road canal, shown here.

By the way, the record rainfall for Dec 23 is 1.39in in 1945.

Lucy's Vitameatavegamin thermometer 58 degrees

Moving on to the cold. The average December temperatures in Palm Springs are a low of 43° and a high of 70°. But today, for example, it was only 58° at 2pm. And the forecast for tonight is in the high 30s. Brrr!

snow covered peaks

In fact, it's been cold enough that the mountains on either side of the valley have been capped with snow for the past week or so.
